Wow, how awesome is it that the whole church has the opportunity as a unit to read the whole Bible in a year! I must say, the Lord, through His Spirit, is going to change all those who complete the journey. Angie and I agree, the first time we ever read through the whole Bible something changed in us, and we would not have received the blessing until we read the Bible through. Did you notice in today’s chapters in Amos that the Lord was going to destroy Israel but Amos interceeded for the nation and the Lord changed his mind? How cool is that!

I may be missing something, but in Ex 4:24, it says that God wanted to kill Moses, why?

It’s a good question. The most obvious answer to the question is that Moses’s son was not circumcised as was required by God’s covenant with Abraham. Funny thing is that in this reading we’re also told that Moses had two sons. What about the other one? Was he circumcised? At any rate, God had picked him to lead the entire nation of Israel and Moses had to be the example. I did a little research and many theologians believe that it was a conflict between Zipporah and Moses. She was from a foreign nation and maybe this practice seemed barbaric. They also believe that Zipporah may have seen that Moses was dying and thus we read that it was actually she that performed the circumcision not Moses.
